That is why we continue to invest in diagnostic technology. The DIAGNOdent laser detection technology is specifically designed to find and diagnose cavities before any other method can even begin to detect them.
 
As the DIAGNOdent scans your teeth, the laser pulses into grooves, fissures and cracks, reflecting fluorescent light of a specific wavelength. This light is measured by receptors and converted to an acoustic signal. This signal is evaluated and displayed on our computer screen. If the laser finds an unhealthy surface, the light wavelength changes and indicates areas in which decay has occurred.  With this tool, we can find tiny amounts of decay earlier than even with our digital x-rays or intraoral cameras!
